My Story in Song

Telling her life story through song is the theme of the debut album My Story by Moyvane singer Elaine Foley.

Recorded in Causeway in 2011, the album is a selection of the many favourites of the well-known North Kerry songstress, who appeared last year in RTE's All Ireland Talent Show. Mother-of-three and full-time student, Elaine has toured the world with various groups and has performed with a number of dance shows like Ceol Chiarrai.

She has been singing since the age of 13 and describes it as an integral part of her life. "I am a full time student at the moment but music is very much my passion. The album has been in the pipeline for a while and I would describe it as a collection of songs which hold a special place in my heart," said Elaine. "Some of the songs would be associated with my father and others would be linked to special memories I have of family members who are home and away. It's dedicated to my husband Enda and my three children - Conor, Hannah and Enya," she said.

My Story will be launched at the Listowel Arms Hotel on August 12th, 2011 There is no admission fee, but a collection will be taken up for Kerry Autism Action, a charity close to Elaine's heart.

"Pat and Billy Donegan, who helped to put the CD together for me, were great. I'm really pleased with it. I will be joined by Heart and Soul on the night for the launch. It's full of songs that have a meaning for me and I hope that others will get their own enjoyment from the album," she added.
