Noreen McEvoy has been elected as President of the Kerry branch of the Irish Countrywomen's Association (ICA)
Noreen, who has been an active member of the Moyvane ICA for over 40 years was chosen as the head of the Kerry ICA at is AGM in Firies in May 2010. Noreen, from Aughrim, took over the mantle from Joanee Lenihan from Dingle. She now leads an organisation comprising of 27 guilds in all parts of Kerry, a number she is hoping to increase over the course of her two year term. Noreen will be working closely with Anne Marie Dennison from Abbeyfeale who is the ICA national president in this the centenary year of the ICA.
